not so good

One expects certain things of a hotel rated 5-star, even if it is in a difficult and remote location. None of those things are at Tabacon.
Our room smelled bad (we couldn't even air it out since there were no screens on the windows), our "view" was a bank ten feet from the window as though we were in a basement, there is no comfortable lounge space in the entire property, only one restaurant and it was dramatically overpriced, and nothing to do on the hotel grounds apart from going down the road to the hot springs. Unfortunately, the springs are not exclusive to the hotel, so they are packed with noisy outside visitors. There isn't even a place to get a snack --- except that from 11 to 12 you can get a "snack" consisting of a $20 hamburger if you go to the hot springs pool bar.
It's not a lousy hotel, just not in any way deserving of 5-stars. And, since you can easily spend more in one day there than in a week at most other places, that's not acceptable.

Would refer anyone in a heartbeat. Definetely 5 stars.

We stayed for 2 days, OMG what an overpriced, dirty and cock roach infested place. Add to that the rude, totally worthless staff. Food was overpriced and only OK. Never again, be warned!!!

Cockroaches, dirty rooms and bad attitude of the employees was what we found in this hotel, not even deserves 3 stars.

Better hotels in the same area, more economics and better hot springs than this over price hotel.
