As the stranger climate in our country the Arenal’s area is not the exception. That is a reason why picture lovers get not easy to capture good pics for the majestic Arenal Volcano who is amazing without clouds, in spite of a clear day, this volcano can go from a great top view to just a cloudy mountain in a short time.

In Costa Rica we do not have well defined the climatic seasons, however, there are two major ones that classically mark this tropical country: rainy and dry. Being a tropical place, the rain use to be present most time of the year, getting drier principally from January to May. These are important months to visit La Fortuna and enjoying photos of the Arenal Volcano, from anywhere you stay, like the park in downtown, a Hotel or the Arenal Lake. By the other hand is very flexible to get sunny some mornings or afternoons while the rest months of the year.

Every moment the volcano is cleared and I am just surrounding is good for getting new images for my personal album.

We are celebrating 188 years of independent life, during which our predecessors’ generations conformed this wonderful nation.

Dozens of Costa Rican families met in downtown La Fortuna to admire the colorful chariots and the different local bands.
The day was totally clear and the Arenal Volcano was witness of this celebration.

We had the opportunity to take some pictures to show you our culture and the way we commemorate our most important days.

Last Sunday, Juan Jose (Operation Manager) and I had the opportunity to visit one of the most famous tourist destinations in Costa Rica, not only for the beaches, but for the marvel of nature. I am talking about Manuel Antonio, located on the Central Pacific area of our country.

Manuel Antonio Costa Rica

The day was very sunny and perfect to enjoy the beach. Even though we are in low season, we could see many tourists that day. During our walk in the park I got very impressed by the great amount of wildlife, as well as the many exuberant plants and big trees the park has. To be honest, I saw more animals than in Monteverde Reserve, where I have been a couple of times.

Just minutes after we leave the park’s main entrance, we could appreciate a friendly sloth getting off a tree. A tourist from North America told me that it seemed the animal was waiting for us to take him a picture, and I did it. This was the result:

Friendly sloth

Nice ah???

Here are also some examples of photos I took during our 3 hours walk. If you like photography as I do, Manuel Antonio National Park is a really nice place to express your talent.

Photos of Manuel Antonio Park

If you are going to Manuel Antonio from La Fortuna it will take you around 5 hours by car and from San Jose 3.5 hours. The road is in perfect conditions.

Enjoy Costa Rica and keep yout world clean!

The lava walk at Arenal National Park is a unique opportunity to experience an active volcano in all its magnificence. The walk itself is a leisurely half hour walk arriving at an extensive lava field, formed in the massive explosions of 1968. Once on the lava, the proximity of the volcano is breath taking. The volcano is constantly spewing lava.

House sized boulders can be seen careening down the sides at tremendous speeds. It makes a sound like a large dump truck spilling a load of gravel. Personally I’ve done the lava walk four times and each and every time I am awe struck yet again.

The experience lived in this activity has been simply wonderful, this tour of only half day is perfect for nature lovers as me. When I did Safari Float at the Peñas Blancas river throughout approximately 7 kilometers, I combined the exciting experience to float down in the water of a great river, while you observe plants, trees, monkeys, birds and others like an impressive caiman baby, which we found in a safe distance but apt to appreciate it in its totality.

The guide with a great knowledge in the area did that the group of stranger people were only one. In fact; some foreigners asked for my help to take them some photos, later I did the same with them!!!. Now we interchange pics between us by e-mail.

Safari Float Peñas Blancas River

Besides what we learned while we were when asking to the guide on each thing that noticed interesting out of the explanation that he was giving us throughout the quiet river; we had a boy very funny, responsible and careful with every detail and need that we had while the route.

If you want to enjoy the nature in a safe and funny way, safari float is and will be the best option for you.

The term “wow” always comes to my mind when I remember my recent visit to The Springs Resort & Spa. This 5 starts hotel is really amazing. The hotel is surrounded by several swimming pools of natural hot and cold springs and at only 100 meters away from the main building it is located the most surprising thermal waters you can imagine.

Just take a look this photo I took with my camera.

Perdido Springs (Lost Springs)

During my inspection, I could noticed the great amount of facilities the hotel offers to its guests; a gym, spa, laundry, Internet, souvenir shop, 4 restaurants, an elevator, casino, a game area and very soon the will be opening a Wildlife Preserve.

Every room has its own private balcony, where you can enjoy a nice view of the Arenal Volcano with your couple or family. The room also includes Satellite TV with 37″ flat screen, safe, mini bar and wi-fi.

The funny part of my visit to the Springs Resort took place at the “Lost springs”area. There is a water flume called the”Monkey Slide” and if you are not afraid of this kind of things, you should try this as I did. In fact, two children did it dozens of times.

Monkey Slide at Springs Resort

I compare this hotel with Tabacon Resort and Arenal Kioro hotel, being the most luxuries hotels in La Fortuna Costa Rica.

Important note:
The hotel has areas still under construction, but they do not affect your privacy and comfort.
