Rafting Balsa River Class IV-V

Overview

This tour is ideal for adventure and rafting lovers. If you have done rafting before and you would like to do something more, this activity in the Balsa River will fulfill your expectations, with class IV and V rapids.

Your day will start off from your La Fortuna hotel, where we will begin a short 40 minute drive in an air conditioned vehicle. Along the route, we will stop by a tropical fruit stand, where you may enjoy Costa Rica´s exotic fruits.

While in Lands in Love hotel in Bajo Rodríguez, you may change into clothes appropriate for the occasion, to start a 10 minute walk to the Balsa River, the start of our adventure. The guides will provide a technique and security briefing.

The approximate time in the river will be 2 hours covering 9.5 miles. The first rapid will be class IV, a warm-up for the next 2 rapids, which will be class V. After an exciting start the rest of the tour will be a combination of class III and IV rapids.

Halfway through the river, we will take a short break to enjoy fruit and contemplate a small waterfall. As an extra option, you may rappel this waterfall, for an additional cost of $30 per person.

When our Rafting adventure concludes, before heading back towards La Fortuna, we will stop in a traditional Costa Rican hacienda, where you will enjoy a delicious lunch and a brief explanation of the process of sugar cane.

The pick up time at the hotel will be from 30 to 15 minutes before the tour.
Minimun age is 12 years old.

Please add $20 per person if the pick up is at Observatory Lodge, Arenal Lodge or Linda Vista hotel.
