This is the perfect combination of activities for all ages, and for all tastes, into a single day.
Early in the morning, we will pick you up at your hotel in La Fortuna. Driving you to the Sloth Territory and walking for no more than 1.5 km (1 mile) approximately, we will find out several sloths living in their wildlife on the treetops. The specialized guides will give you information, emphasizing the importance of protecting this species, their diet, the sloths long naps, and much more that you and the whole family will enjoy.
After the sloths, we will visit a farmer family that represents the Costa Rican culture. They still live from what they get from working hard the land; therefore, we can learn about what a real “Campesino” is.
Upon arrival, our welcome will be with a refreshing natural juice, immediately we will notice that in this place there are no preservatives or chemicals to which we are accustomed.
We will go on to carry out activities for all the family, such as, the manual milking of cows, feeding calves and chickens, rabbits, geese, quail, among other species of animals that are on this small farm.
After that, we are going to taste chocolate, the milk recently milked, and sugarcane to extract its juice, combining it with different ingredients such as liquor, peppermint and other organic products obtained at the farm. Observing and tasting the distillation process of the liquor in an artisanal way will be another highlight on this trip.
There is an orchid plantation and an orchard with a great variety of medicinal plants where we will walkthrough.
Finally, we will be participants in the lunch preparation; with the owner of the place, we will learn the recipe to cook a typical lunch in the old way.
You will be back at your hotel in La Fortuna at 2:30 p.m. approximately.
