Right next to the famous Cerro Chato is located Cerro Los Perdidos; it is a beautiful spot in the rain forest where the transition to the cloud forest takes place.
A short driving trip of around 30 minutes will take you from your hotel in La Fortuna to the amazing experience of walking inside the mountain. The almost 2000 feet above sea level gives us great views of the Northern plains of Costa Rica from where we can see the Arenal Volcano.
Through 2 miles, we are going to be hiking by natural paths, with the chance to find out monkeys, birds, small mammals, plant diversity, Cristal water, and our main objective El Burrito Waterfall. It is 132 feet high. Because of the virgin crystal water spring and the environmental care, swimming is not allowed on it.
As an important fact, the naturalist guide will let you know good information regarding the importance of the well-known “Bosque Eterno de Los Niños” and its contribution to protecting our natural resources.
Before starting our way back to La Fortuna, fresh fruits will be waiting for us in a typical Costa Rican "Choza” with earth floor and made of wood. This fact will show you the way our farmers lived some years ago. Also, in this area, you will see a large plantation of local products like Sugar cane and some tubers such as Yuca, Ñampi, and Tiquizque.
You will be back at your resort at 3:30 p.m. approximately.
