Tamarindo Costa Rica

Overview

The beautiful beach of Tamarindo is located on the west coast of Guanacaste Province on Tamarindo Bay. Located here are some of Costa Rica's most popular tourist destinations including hotels, stores and restaurants.

Flamingo and Conchal are two of the most beautiful and popular beaches in this area. The towns' population of more than 3,000 people depends on tourism activity. In the past few years, Tamarindo has experienced a great deal of development. Major investments have been made by foreigners who have fallen in love with this place.

The night life in Tamarindo Costa Rica is diverse with beach parties, bars and discotheques. Surfing is good all year-round with the best times in June and July. Playa Grande is another surfing location which is close by.

Other water sports activities available near Tamarindo are scuba diving, snorkeling and deep sea fishing. Many people take a boat trip to visit the beautiful white sand beaches of "Isla Capitan" or strong swimmers get there by swimming.

Playa Tamarindo is four hours by car/bus from the Juan Santamaria Airport in San Jose and one hour from the Daniel Oduber Airport in Liberia.
